I havnt had any trouble truing them up - tension, round, dish, true. usually if i have a major bend in the rim I would replace it. so no I havent trued what i would call a "major bend" but a couple mil out of true is no problem.

I would have to disagree with you on that one. never had a problem with andy of my twist lace wheels.

Alright, well seeing as that isn't the kind of fork I would run I think I'll take a pass. Any chance of selling frame only?

That's USD correct? What kind of fork is it? A Float I'm assuming, but is it a 32 or F100 or something?

What year/size is it, how long has it been used and what style of riding was it used for? What are you asking?

ok I see. Thanks. I figured I might air nail it from underneath after I glued it (if I decide to go ahead). There are enough make work projects around here as is so it may be awhile. If I get anywhere with this I will let you know and hit up the thread also.

Take care.

Did you guys cut the tongues off or install it just as you would do on a floor by nailing through the tongues with a flooring nailer? Thanks, Andrew.

Did you put 3/4" ply under the hardwood planks? You mentioned that you nailed the planks but did you glue them also? Do they 'move' at all with humidity or seasonal changes? I know when I took my fine woodworking course we were always calculating movement and designing around it. When installing a hardwood or laminate floor, you need to allow 1/4" around all sides to avoid buckling/damage. Did your friend build any of this margin into your bench top or are we being a little too anal about a shop bench.....? I think I might scab my plywood top with engineered wood or hardwood and I love the idea of using prefabed floor planks. I did some googling and a few folks have done this.
38lbs isn't too bad really. My Kona is over 35lbs and it can be pedaled uphill all day no problems (well... aside from my terrible fitness as of late).
